What a wet and dreary day! I just finished monitoring the state tests at Zach's school and thought I would write a few lines.
We had a great Easter weekend. Hope you did as well. Here are our Easter week activities. Last Wednesday we went to a comedy about the disciple, Thomas, that our church put on. It was pretty funny. Our youth pastor writes plays for the drama team that are insightful yet funny.
Friday night we went to an event at our church about the 14 stations of the cross. It was a nice evening that was very informative and moving. One of the stations is when Jesus fell the second time. There was a plague at that station that said something like this, "If you have failed once, you have been humiliated. If you have fallen twice, you have faced scorn. Did you get back up so you could fall a third time? Jesus Did." It was better than that but that is my version. I will have to see if I can get the real thing. It was very good.
Saturday morning we got up at 4:30 a.m. (Yes, A.M.) and went out to our friends Jake and Alisa Jones' ranch where our church had a sunrise service. It was cold and damp but very fun. There were probably 70 people there and after the service we had breakfast together. We left at 8 a.m. and went home because Zach and Briana had baseball and softball practice. I have no idea how they practiced because I went home and crashed for an hour and a half. That afternoon we went to Muskogee to Duane's parent's house to celebrate Easter, Duane's mom's birthday and my birthday. We had delicious BBQ chicken and apple pie. Yum.
Sunday was great. We went to church, celebrated Easter, prepared the communion, then went to Fuddrucker's. That isn't really a traditional place to eat out at on Sunday but we have been in an On the Border rut so we switched things up a bit. I came home and took a small nap and Duane and I watched The Master's Golf Championship on TV. During this auspicious event we caught a funny moment as the cameras were panning the crowd. One of the golfers had just made a great shot and the people were clapping and cheering. This guy had his around around his wife (?) and while everyone was clapping he reached around and grabbed her boob. She started swatting him away but it was too late...the Sallee's had already hit the record button and it was caught for all time. Duane kept making these honking noises as we watched it over and over. We laughed so hard! Sorry if you think that is crude but please, we were watching golf for heaven's sake. We had to get a laugh from something.
